UPDATE ON CITY SERVICES PERTAINING TO COVID-19:
On March 6, Governor Herbert issued an executive order declaring a state of emergency. The executive order is part of Utah’s preparedness plan and came at the unanimous recommendation of the Utah COVID-19 Task Force. Cities like Kanab that declare a local emergency are permitted under state law to take additional measures they may deem necessary.
What does this mean for our residents? The City Office will remain open, but staffing may be limited as nonessential personnel are asked to work remotely. We ask that you use our online bill pay options at kanab.utah.gov or call the office at 435-644-2534 for any City payments. Or drop off your payment in the drop box outside of the City Office door. All public meetings will be postponed indefinitely. This includes upcoming planning commission, city council and other related board meetings. City staff are researching online options to identify the best approach to conducting the meetings remotely.
Once remote meeting options are confirmed, all meetings will be publicly noticed in compliance with city code and state law. In addition, we will post updates regularly on our website and social media platforms, as well as send regular email updates to keep residents informed.
Kanab City thanks you for your cooperation.
